The birds are chirping, the grass is greener, that must mean one thing...........AAU basketball is back!!!. We are less than 2 weeks away from the start of the spring club basketball season. Whether you play for a shoe company or you play on a team with no Division 1 prospects, this is the time of the year you  game gets better. This part 1 of a 8 part series on the preview of the upcoming season. Today, we will look at the top 10 events this spring in the south. For all you AAU coaches in the south, this is guide on what events are the best for your team to attend.

1.BOB GIBBONS TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS SUWANEE,GEORGIA MAY 1-3

perhaps the best non live period event in the country. all the top shoe teams in the south will be in attendance.Its the unofficial championship of the south.

2.(TIE) UNDER ARMOUR SESSION 1 NEW ORLEANS, ADIDAS GAUNTLET DALLAS,NIKE EYBL IN LEXINGTON

the top shoe company teams due battle to see who will be champions in July. Under Armour will also be in Lousiville April 24-26

3. NIKE MEMORIAL DAY CLASSIC SUWANEE, GEORGIA  MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

All of the 16u Nike teams and the top 17u southern teams will be at this event.

4.SOUTHERN EXPOSURE SHOWCASE AUGUSTA,GEORGIA APRIL 24-26

The top event in the south ,the last live period event in the south.

5. KINGWOOD CLASSIC April 24-26 HOUSTON, TEXAS

Do you remember when this event was the only event people attended back in the day? It is still the top Texas event in the spring.

6. REAL DEAL IN THE ROCK APRIL 3-5 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS

Do you remember when this was the other big event in the spring? This tournament wil draw all of the teams in the Gulf South

7. ICEBREAKER INVITATIONAL MARCH 27-29 AUGUSTA, GEORGIA

This is slowly becoming the top opening event in the country.The field this year is unreal

8. SWEET 16 SESSION 1 AND 2 MARIETTA, GEORGIA APRIL 10-12 AND APRIL 24-26

It  is a showcase style tournament with plenty of coaches in the gym.Last summer in Shun Williams Elite 32 event, Coach Pitino was in the building. If you want exposure, this is definitely the event.

9.KNOXVEGAS HEAT INVITATIONAL KNOXVILLE,TENNESSEE APRIL 3-5

One of the most underrated events in the country.

10. AAU MEMORIAL DAY CLASSIC ORLANDO,FLORIDA MAY 23-26

All the best teams from Florida will be in this event.
