Bigfoot Hoops’ Easter Showdown observations

Hard2Guard 17's after receiving a bye for winning their pool in Bigfoot Hoops Easter Showdown in Las Vegas got rewarded with playing their Platinum bracket game in Western HS's auxiliary gym with walls literally 4ft past each baseline, a floor fit for ice skating, and just 1 14" fan strategically placed at the far end of the gym by an open door serving as air conditioning.  Great game with a long delay (15-20 minutes) by officials over an injury to 1 of our opponents starting players resulting in a band aid to his forehead, & no one knowing where the cleaning supplies were to clean up the few drops of blood on the court.  At the time Hard2Guard had a 15 pt lead and all the momentum already halfway through the 2nd half vs Simply Fundamental, incredibly they promptly blew the lead and lost the game on a 4 pt play on a suspect call at a crucial time in a close game.

The next was Bigfoot Hoops selection of the Bob Price Community Center for its Platinum bracket championship site with very limited seating, standing room only & bodies literally surrounding the court sitting on the floor.  The officiating was suspect & lopsided (I know everyone says that) to the tune of 26 to 5 fouls called (13 to 2 1st half), people not involved in or having a stake in the game, actually just watching waiting to play their game after ours starting complaining about the refs who obviously were either new or nervous I can't speak to which, but I do know that 1 official called a 1 & 1 on basically the 1st foul of the 2nd half for us then he & the other ref couldn't decide if the foul was a shot foul or on the floor!  They also had issues on where to inbound the ball after a foul call later, we were the bigger team and were beaten up on every play with audible slaps, obvious offensive fouls, & several violations just being ignored by the officials drawing almost on cue objections from the waiting players & their audience calling for different ref's for their game.  Team Vegas Soldiers 15u vs Vegas Elite 2017's should've been a very good game & should've had 3 refs as HS level games mostly do and for a Platinum bracket game should've demanded that & a better venue.  #Ontothenextone
