1. Ohio boys basketball is losing one of its top college recruiting targets. VJ King is leaving St. Vincent-St. Mary to enroll at Paul VI (Va.) for his junior season. The rising junior has a serious list of Division I offers, which includes Ohio State, Arizona, Georgetown, Michigan, Michigan State and UCLA.

2. 2016 Elite Big Jayce Johnson (JSerra) is transferring to Findlay Prep. Look for the southern California big man to really make strides, as he prepares to match up against national competition.

3. Via ZagsBlog, Arizona-bound point guard Justin Simon is the latest high-level recruit to transfer to Brewster (N.H.) Academy

4. The Las Vegas (NV) Bishop Gorman center Big Zimm, showed why he has been so highly regarded since the 7th grade. Now entering his senior season and playing in his last grassroots event he averaged 17.5 points and 11.5 rebounds while shooting 63 percent from the floor over four games at Nike Global Challenge. He also led Team USA West to an undefeated run, winning the championship against USA East.

5. Elite 2015 Big Man, Skal Labissiere had just transferred to Lausanne Collegiate after three years at Evangelical Christian. However, because Labissiere participated in some off-season practices with ECS, the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association has denied him eligibility for his senior season. Other viable options include a newly developed prep school.

6. 2016 Top player, Thon Maker & 2017 rising player, Matur Maker are leaving the Carlisle School in Martinsville, Va. In a statement sent to Rivals.com on Wednesday (Sept 3), Maker’s guardian Edward Smith confirmed that Maker and his brother are making the move up north to Orangeville Prep in Ontario and will suit up for Athlete Institute.

7. 2015 PF of Plano West, DJ Hogg ( ESPN Top 100 talent at #28,  the #3 ranked player in the state of Texas) committed to Texas A&M.

8. The west coast is stocked with elite guards rising sophomore Troy Brown, Centennial (Nev.) might be the most dynamic. Ranked No. 2 in the class of 2017, Brown possesses innate ability to read defenses utilizing his  6-foot-6 frame. Look for the lights to shine heavily on him this season. Currently holds offers from Duke, UCLA, Arizona, Kansas and UNLV.
