Nike Hoop Summit Roster Announced for USA

The 2014 USA Junior National Select Team announced their roster that will compete against the World Select Team on April 12th, 2014 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The Hoop Summit is the country’s premier event for prep basketball and showcases the future stars of college and NBA basketball. The World team will feature the top international players in the country under the age of 19.

This will be the 17th game in the history of the event. The United States has an 11-5 advantage in the series despite losing the last two years. The USA team will be lead by DeMatha Catholic High School head coach Mike Jones. This years roster features ten of the best prep players in the country. Duke bound center Jahlil Okafor will lead the way for the USA team. Portland high school basketball fans got to see him play at the Les Schwab Invitational last month. Two other USA players will also be heading to Duke, Justise Winslow from Houston, Texas and guard Tyus Jones from Minnesota. The roster also include electrifying wing Stanley Johnson, (6-7, 226) from Mater Dei High School who will be headed to the top ranked Arizona Wildcats next fall. The USA team will also feature two future Kansas Jayhawks in wing Kelly Oubre and big man Cliff Alexander.
