Orlando Team Jayhawks 6th grade is an elite team that is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our student-athletes. Our goal is to improve athletic and academic skills of these young men, while enhancing important life skills such as self-discipline, positive relationship building, attention to detail and good sportsmanship. Participants within our program play year round in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), local leagues and tournaments to ensure that we develop well-rounded youth athletes. The head coach is Donovan Redden. Donovan played 4 years of college basketball and also played a year of pro basketball for the Chicago Steam (ABA). Donovan is currently a player development trainer and can be reached at dredden@thebasketballacademy.com for more information. Dwayne Smith is the assistant coach. Dwayne played four years of college basketball at Eckerd College. Dwayne also played 3 years of professional basketball in Europe and was invited to the NBDL pre-draft camp in Dallas, Texas in 2006.
