Seattle Stars

DIRECTOR: Benjamin Blue
LOCATION: Seattle, Washington

The Seattle Stars is a non-profit 501(c)3 program that is built on the basic building blocks of hard work and enthusiasm. These two cornerstones of our program are infused into the boys and will hopefully translate to other areas of their lives so they can become responsible community members.

We believe and preach these cornerstones at every practice and every game. By reinforcing these traits, we believe that they translate to all areas of life and will breed not only success on the court, but off the court as well. Basketball is a great game. But, it pales in comparison to life. The Stars believe that it is possible, if taught properly, basketball can be a very important teaching tool in improving the boys on our team's lives.

The Seattle Stars were formed in 2011 with the goal of teaching young boys, through the game of basketball, that success is measured by giving your best effort. The Stars’ coaches preach the fundamentals of basketball interwoven with the notion that one can never be through learning and that improvement is always possible. Hard work and an enthusiastic attitude are the cornerstones of the Stars’ philosophy. This emphasis on working hard and doing things the right way allows the Stars to build character and self-esteem in the boys at an early age and ingrains the belief that the impossible becomes possible when coupled with an excellent work ethic.
