TOP 10 SPRING LIVE PERIOD EVENTS

It’s beginning to look a lot like……Grassroots season. If you are a high school kid, JUCO player, unsigned senior, the next 2 weeks will help with your decision may be for the next 4 years.( 5 star kids, the next year). Coaches, tell their players to be on their best behaviors and parents make arrangements for their child to be at these events. From Boston, MA to Seattle,WA, events are all over the country. If you looking for some events to follow over the next 2 weeks, here is a look at the Top 10 events in the Spring.. Before I unveil the list, I will display 11-20 on the grassroots spring circuit.

20. Circle City Shootout Indianpolis,IN

17. HOF New England

16. NY2LA Extravaganza

15. Midwest Live Challenge

14.Terrific 24 Indianapolis,IN

13. Double Pump Hoop Fest California

12. Mile High Classic Denver,CO

11. Phenom Hoop Challenge Spartanburg,SC

10. Southern Exposure Showcase N.Augusta,SC  Dameon Key puts together another solid event in the Carolinas.

9. NW Premier Showcase Bellevue,WA This event attracts all of the top Northwestern teams. Premier hoops is an under the radar when it comes to great events.

8. Nike Spring Showdown Chicago Baylor  basketball always has great events. Midwestern and Great Lake area teams will convene on this event.

7. Pangos Spring Sweet 16 – perhaps the top west coast event during the live periods.

6. Hoopseen Atlanta Jam- Suwanee I remember when my boy Eric Eleton was running events at Suwanee when it was just USSSA basketball. He has help turn Suwanee into the mecca of grassroots basketball in the south. All of the top southern teams will be at this event. Eric, can I get that discount for my teams for your event now?..lol Just joking.

5. Kingwood Classic- Houston,TX If you have been around grassroots basketball as long as I have, you know Kingwood Classic use to be the premier event in the Spring. Bigfoot Hoops deifinitely makes this their signature spring event.

4. Sweet 16 Session 1 and 2 McEachern High Shun Williams and On The Radar Hoops are an A-1 organization. Some of the top teams and top coaches will be at this event. My team, Rome Elite will be in the building.

3. Shooting Stars Classic- Akron,OH This event used to be called Lebron James King James Classic. This event brings all of Ohio out. Dru Joyce does a great job with this event.

2. Spring Jam Fest april 21-23 Pitt Jam Fest april 28-30 Hoop Group puts on some of the best events all season. It will probably be close to 200 teams in each event. These are  the top events on the East Coast.

1.Nike EYBL ,Adidas Gauntlet, Under Armour session 1 and 2

When the shoe companies are involved, they will always be the top events. When was the last time you heard of an American  born athlete be a lottery pick and not play on a shoe sponsored team? All 3 companies market their grassroots basketball on another level. Its hard to say who is no.1 right now( we need a playoffs shoe companies). After the live period we can tell. Nike will start out in Virginia then follow up in INDY. Adidas will start off in Texas and end up in the ATL. Under Armour will start in NY and also close out in INDY.
