Shreveport Gators Basketball is not just a sports team but more so a non-profit organization designed to help boys become men. We teach them the importance of staying in school and being well grounded. Our religious beliefs are strong putting God first and thanking him for our success. It was founded in 2006 by Kevin Hoskey Sr. an avid basketball fan who had a dream and turned it in to reality. Kevin is not only the head coach but a mentor to these kids. They look up to him and also fills the void of not having a father figure to some. He is truly Heaven sent. The Gators rely heavily from fund raisers and the participation of parents for trips to tournaments, lodging, meals, entertainment and such. The Gators also have a team mom, Ms. Toshia Jones who takes care of all accommodations for the team. She also depends on The Gator Moms to assist her as needed. Together Kevin, Toshia, The Gator Moms and Dads do a wonderful jobs mentoring the kids keeping them focused and trouble free.
