Recap of Winter Challenge – 8th Grade Basketball IndiWorld3 West Qualifier
By: Brian
January 22, 2018

The Winter Challenge featured 9 top 2022 clubs in the west, but in the end it was the team that traveled the farthest - New Mexico Dogs that ran the gauntlet with a 5-0 run.  New Mexico Dogs on the 1st day defeated one of the toughest teams in the west, Real Run OC.  Real Run OC played their last event under this moniker, choosing to go under the Truth OC Nike umbrella.  The New Mexico Dogs defeated the San Diego Seal Team in the final.

It was also a big day for IndiHoops and the IndiWorld Championship as we unveiled the IndiLocker for the first time ever.

www.indilockers.com is now the mainstay site for all things IndiWorld championship.  A complete ecosystem for the 8th grade player across the world.

It allows 8th graders in the class of 2022 to have their own interactive profile – where history will be recorded for them in all qualifiers and regionals.  Stats, ability to be reviewed by certified scouts, storage of highlight videos and pictures, and tracking of your progress are just some of the many benefits of the locker.  It also allows us to quickly and very easily verify birth certificates and age.

In just 2 weeks we already have 200 lockers on there from across the country, and rapidly growing.

We are in beta testing now, but again – check it out:

If you want the full story on how this came about you can read about it by clicking on this LINK.

This was also cool because we were able to identify the top 10 players from the qualifier based on the live streamed videos and analysis.

Jakwon Hill took MVP honors.

  • The best game of the event however, was Gamepoint vs. AZ Iron in a double OT affair. Devon Arlington put together another strong tournament.  Devon was the MVP of the Fall Classic qualifier.  AZ Iron had strong play by Quinn Thompsen and Oakland around the rim.
  • 2023 Matchup – Mikey Williams (SD Seal Team) vs. Michael Price (The Truth OC) of Real Run OC DID NOT DISAPPOINT. These kids are the future of 2023 class from the backcourt.
