2014 Stock Risers

Quentin Snider – 6’1” PG – Louisville Magic - Wow! Had Quentin played in the semi’s I believe his Louisville teams would have been a tough out.  He has great range both of the bounce and catch & shoot.  His mid range game is solid as well.  He creates a lot of opportunities for his teammates w/ his pinpoint passes.  Could use 20 lbs of muscle, but regardless Univ. of Louisville is getting a great playmaker and scorer.

Nate Gehring – 6’10” PF - Kingdom Hoops – Nate had his best tournament for coach Jake Sullivan.  Nate showed some nifty moves around the basket and also showed his range by splashing a couple of jumpers.  He also showed some promise on the defensive end.  The mid majors will be calling with a shortage of quality “bigs” in the Midwest.

Nick Baab – 6’4” SG – Texas Select – He and his teammates proved that when they play together and take great shots they are one of the best U17 teams in the country.  Baab has the total game.  He can not only get to the rim, but know how to finish.  His outside game is solid as well knocking down several key perimeter shots.  His brother, Chris, is a Cyclone.  Just maybe we may find him in Ames.

Bjorn Broman – 5’11’ PG - The younger brother of South Dakota State commit Anders Broman will be making his own footprints.  He is a tough kids who is very good using ball screens.  His range is unbelievable and has great body control when attacking the bigs.  He is a 2015 grad. playing up with the 17’s.  His name will be out there and low mid majors may be calling.

Keita Bates – Diop – 6’7” – SF – Illinois Wolves – Keita uses his tremendous length on both ends of the court.  He and his Wolves teammates defend as well as any team this spring. He also has an inside out game.  He can take you off the bounce with either hand and his pretty 15 foot baseline shot is deadly.  The Buckeyes are getting a difference maker!

Dalton Nixon – 6’8” PF – Utah Prospects – BYU Coach, Dave Rose, must be smiling.  Dalton showed why as he rose to the occasion with his play.  He has a great array of post moves, but is deadly from the perimeter.  He is a  tough matchup for anyone, as he has a college body already.  We haven’t heard the last of Dalton Nixon.

Joe Burton – 6’6” SF - Houston Defenders – An explosive player/athlete brings a ton of energy on the floor.  He is a little inconsistent with his long-range game, but attacking the rim is his game.  He’s a 3 Star that is on the verge of blowing up.  You’ll see his offers pile up in July.

Seth Boniface – 6’9” C Iowa Barnstormers – Boniface dominated the last 6 minutes in knocking off Howard Pulley in the semifinal game.  He fought hard on both ends and getting a couple crucial put-backs.  He also hit back-to-back face up 10-12 foot jumpers and buried 4 FT's to ice the game.  He runs well and has a pretty good set of hands. He'll be a perfect fit for a high mid-major as he continues to mature.

Andre Wallace – 6’1” PG – Net Gain Sports – Andre had a big game in their loss to Texas Select.  He certainly was not the reason why.  He made plays with his defense and in the transition game. He can pull up on a dime or explode by and finish at the rim.  He’s got great vision and is a floor leader for his team.  Look for more D1’s to make him an offer.

Daryl Gaynor – 6’2”  - SG – Vegas Prospects – Can flat out shoot it.  He probably is more of a 2 guard as he moves well without the ball, but is also capable of being a threat off the bounce.  There will be a recruiting battle out west vying for his services

Div. 2 Risers

David Salach – 6’6”  - SF– Team Yobo – One of the biggest jumpers in the gym last weekend.  He had a couple highlight real dunks.  He rarely show his ability to shoot it.  He’s on a team with great shooter, so he isn’t asked to score very much.  He’ll be limited offensively at a small major, so I expect him to be a solid D2 player.

Cole Clearman – 6’0”  -PG – Iowa Barnstormers – His game has risen the past couple weeks.  He’s a tough kid who is not afraid to take the tough shot or make the big play down the stretch.  He is a solid shooter from outside and mid range stuff has improved.  He’s got solid handles, a nice passer, and good on the ball defender.

Vince Fritz – 6’2” G Team YOBO – This combo guard had to step in for the absence of Clayton Cluster.  He’s everything you want in a floor leader.  He plays hard and makes great decisions.  He has great range with a pretty quick release
