The Team United Travel program is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping youth strengthen their basketball and life skills and to enhance their determination to pursue a college education by means of athletics. The program was formed in 2005 by the combination of two prior existing basketball clubs in the Charlotte area. The reasons for the merger was to become a stronger organization, better serve the community, meet the needs of all up and coming athletes that needed exposure, and a larger avenue which allows youth to reach their goals. Formerly known as United Celtics, in 2009 the organization changed the name to what we stand for today, a "Team United". Over the years we have had various sponsors, but in 2011 we found a home with Nike and entered the Elite Youth Basketball League. Our first year in the "EYBL" we fought hard and proved we belong by winning our division and qualified for the prestigious Nike Peach Jam Tournament. Not only in the first year did we qualify for the tournament, we made it to the glorious Elite 8 the tournament. In only a short time we have put numerous players in universities and colleges across the nation. We have helped players on all levels, such as D1, D2, and D3. In 2010, we had our first program player follow his dream by entering into the NBA; 7'0 ft Hassan Whiteside from Marshall University. We have also had many players follow their playing passions overseas to play professionally. Also, in 2012 we started expanding the program to areas of South Carolina and currently have some good up and coming talent rising quickly.
